Charnwood College basketball squad takes league title

The Charnwood College Riders, a basketball academy based at Charnwood College, have taken home the women's league title after another successful season.
The squad, which includes students aged 16-19 who are all taking an Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence, has secured the Women's League North Title for the first time since entering the National League four seasons ago.
Krumesh Patel, Head Coach, commented: "It has been a great year so far! The girls have done really well to win the league showing so much growth and development over the season.

“The league title has been a whole team effort. Without everyone this would not have been possible so all the girls can be proud. We are now looking ahead to the elite college playoffs.”

Mark Sutton, Principal at Charnwood College, added: "This is a fantastic achievement.
"We are proud to work in partnership with the Leicester Riders to run this academy programme. We have so many talented students taking part and the team is clearly going from strength to strength."
